at Joe’s Garage
Saturday 7 September
& Saturday 14 September
14:00 - 18:00

In order to compensate for their frustrations about tedious work and to make up for lost time, people keep on buying stupid and worthless stuff. Still it doesn’t make them happy.
Meanwhile the heaps of rubbish grow causing air and water pollution. In addition, the bulk of our consumer goods are made in poor countries, where people have to work for wages so low they can barely afford to eat.
Time for a better approach.

One way for us to take back our labor power and escape from this vicious circle, is simply  to consume less and reuse things. Because the best things often end up in the garbage or in a attic gathering dust, a place is needed to accommodate this overflow. Because the real value of things is often obcured by their price (or exchange value), the best way is just to give them away. A free shop is a place where nothing is for sale and everything is free. A free shop is no garbage landfill, but a place where you can hand in what is too good to throw away and take what you need.
In a free shop there is always enough for everyone's needs, but not enough for everyone's greed.

Do you have something beautiful or useful left over or do you need anything?
Come along: every Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00.
